Who we are

TaxGo is a UK Self Assessment preparation service operated by TaxGo Ltd. We are the data controller for the personal information we process.

What we collect

• Name, email address, date of birth
• National Insurance number and Unique Taxpayer Reference
• Tax documents you upload
• Information extracted from your documents
• Answers to tax-related questions
• Payment information (processed by Stripe)

How we use your information

• To prepare your Self Assessment tax return
• To communicate with you about your return
• To process payments
• To improve our service
• To comply with legal obligations

How we protect your data

All personal data is encrypted at rest and in transit. Sensitive identifiers such as National Insurance numbers and UTRs are stored with additional encryption. Documents are stored in private storage buckets accessible only via time-limited signed URLs. See our security page for more detail.

Data retention

We retain your tax return data for a minimum period aligned with HMRC record-keeping requirements. You can request deletion of your account and data at any time, subject to legal retention obligations.

Your rights
